Pilot Hiring Trends & More Highlights from PAPA Expo

By Kevin Cortes

At the 2025 PAPA Expo in Las Vegas, we were excited to be back engaging with the aviation community. We connected with current LogTen users and pilots discovering the app for the first time, as well as many of our industry partners. We explored the latest developments in pilot recruiting and professional development. More than just a digital logbook, LogTen is becoming a launchpad for pilot careers, offering tools that support every stage of the journey, from student pilot to the airline interview.

Thanks to the Professional Asian Pilots Association for hosting another outstanding event that brings the community together.

Connecting with a Career-focused Crowd

We met professional pilots actively looking for their next job, CFIs exploring their next step, and student pilots mapping out their futures. Many were chatting with recruiters and looking for the right tools to support their job search, LogTen included. We spent time discussing and showcasing LogTen features that help optimize how pilots log their time at every stage of their aviation career.

Why Employers Love LogTen

Airline recruiters continue to tell us how much they value LogTen for its ability to deliver structured, complete, and verified flight records, aligned with exactly what hiring teams need to see. One standout moment at PAPA Expo came from a legacy airline’s logbook review team, who shared how consistently well-prepared LogTen users are. As one cadet coordinator put it: "LogTen shows us everything we need to see."

Another highlight came from a pilot representative with ALPA who said to us, verbatim, "You guys literally got me my job with Delta."

As pilot hiring evolves, tools like LogTen are playing a bigger role in how pilots present their experience and demonstrate readiness. We're building features that help bridge the gap between logging time and landing the next opportunity, ensuring your flight history works harder for you when it matters most.Because when your records are clear, complete, and verified, they open doors.

Tracking the Details That Matter

Employer applications are getting more specific. Pilots are being asked to report things like:

With LogTen, pulling this data is easy. Whether you're using Smart Groups, the Analyze tab, or building a custom report, you can highlight the exact timeframes recruiters want to see. LogTen is the only logbook that delivers this level of precision and insight into your flying history, along with more than 120 professional-grade report formats to match the needs of any employer. Helping Pilots Make the Switch

One of the most common questions we fielded: "How do I import my logbook into LogTen?" Whether pilots are coming from paper or another digital system, we make the transition smooth:

Pilots were surprised by how easy it is to switch to LogTen, but what stood out most was its lasting impact, powerful features and career-ready reports that support their journey from student to professional. Learn more about importing to LogTen.

Top 4 Topics We Heard From Pilots

  1. Throughout the event, pilots shared what they value most about LogTen. Many who started early in their training said they were glad they did. They talked about how the app has grown with them and how its features support them at every stage of their journey.
  2. Pilots who hadn’t switched yet often said they wished they had. We guided many through the process on the spot and helped them get set up in just minutes.
  3. Line pilots flying 121 and 135 emphasized how easy it is to import flight schedules into LogTen, whether before or after a trip. With integrations through our API, partners like CrewControl for SkyWest pilots and FC View for many other regional carriers make it easy to send schedules to LogTen with just a click. That flexibility makes it easy to stay up to date, regardless of where or what they are flying.
  4. A strong showing of booth visitors came through partner programs with airlines and pilot associations, cadet initiatives, and scholarships, and they were proud LogTen users. These pilots were some of the most engaged and their feedback helps our product team building LogTen shape what comes next.

A Sneak Peek at Smarter Job Searching

We demoed LogTen’s beta in-app job search tool, including a custom Smart Dashboard that shows jobs based on your flight history and goals, along with a Competitiveness Meter that gives insight into how you compare with other qualified applicants.

From CFIs to transitioning military pilots to job-seeking commercial pilots, interest in these tools was high. These features are the next step in helping your flight experience connect directly to career opportunities, powered by verified data and built to support your next move.

LogTen, along with the entire Flight Schedule Pro family of products, is dedicated to supporting and engaging with the pilot community. Events like PAPA, WAI, NGPA, and LPA are just a few examples of these efforts. We are proud to be part of their journey and committed to building tools that help pilots move forward.
